Description
The ASR 8000 is a hybrid architecture, including both a switch ASIC for up to wire-speed performance and a network processor (NPU) for advanced service features and unique troubleshooting tools.
Built in a small form factor with unique front to side airflow, the ASR 8000 is a reliable platform for service delivery over many years. Extended temperature versions allow deployment into harsh installation environments and all connectors in the front provides easy access.
The ASR 8000 runs Waytream iBOS operating system, a feature rich and reliable software that provide advanced service features such as ingress/egress shaping with Weighted Fair Queuing and quality measurement and analysis of multicast TV. Various layer 2 and layer 3 features support public and private networks, wholesale, layer 2 overlay and redundant networking for build highly available FTTx networks for business and residential users.
